WELCOME!

Dear colleagues,

In the modern age of medicines, many problems were solved by the development of new manufacturing technologies and novel pharmaceutical formulations coupled with proper assessment of their properties through in vitro and in vivo studies. In this context, now, more than ever, we need to discuss the current and future challenges that can be overcome by using these technologies in the development of pharmaceutical formulations with many advantages over the traditional ones, as well as to discuss about the final product quality assessment, through biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic studies.

The 12th edition of the Symposium on Biopharmacy-Pharmacokinetics and Pharmaceutical Industry aims to address nowadays issues in these fields and facilitate a transfer of knowledge among specialists. This is a continuation of the tradition initiated by Professor Sorin E. Leucuţa and contributes to the continuous professional training that is necessary for professionals working in the field of medicines manufacturing. This year’s Symposium is based on sharing the results of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing and drug evaluation. The presentations will highlight the latest trends in these areas, focusing on both patient safety during therapy and maximizing therapeutic efficacy.

It is time to take advantage of the many opportunities ahead, to courageously explore the unlimited potential of these areas, and to facilitate through our efforts and knowledge the orientation of the pharmacist profession to the next level. We look forward to share with you at this symposium the latest and most relevant scientific and technological aspects, hoping that your participation will be a positive experience with great applicability in your professional work.

The current edition of the symposium will take place in a historical moment, the 100th anniversary of medical-pharmaceutical education in Romanian language in Cluj-Napoca.

We’re looking forward to meet you at the symposium,

Prof. Laurian Vlase, PhD
